Our job is
as old as our emblem, which is the Rosetta
Stone – the breakthrough in the
deciphering of the Egyptian hieroglyphic
script. The Stone is inscribed in two
languages, Greek and Egyptian, and in
a popular and a more formal style. When
the stone was carved around 200 BC, the
Egyptians used three different scripts – Greek,
hieroglyphic and demotic – and
the text was therefore inscribed in three
different versions. This meant that,
whatever their language and education,
all Egyptians were able to read the text,
which describes a Pharoah's heroic deeds.
The Rosetta Stone symbolizes what we at Traductor do: translating so that everyone
understands the message. |
